Just seen while out walking the dog. Always like these. Anyone know whether they are worse than an old bug on maintenance etc.?

Most every one I've seen has been daily driven, so I imagine they're not terrible.

they are supposed to be just as simple mechanically as a beetle but all the other parts from trim to body and accesories are harder to find and much more expensive. I think i read that these never officially were imported to the states which i find hard to believe but regardless they are much more rare than beetles. I too think they are sexy and the convertibles remind me of the merc 190sl's. I would love to pick one up but not for more than 8k or so

They are exactly the same as an old Bug. Better learn how to aduct rocker arms.

The first ones had the exact engines as the beetle so why would it be worse when it comes to maintenance? And that engine wasn't that hard to get to either:

Shoot, that's clean.

They're exactly the same as the Beetle. Pretty much just the body is different. Really easy/cheap to keep running.
